After starting the tracker on the child’s device, a parent presses the "Share Link" button to generate a unique, private URL. This link is sent to their own email or messaging app. Opening this link on any computer or smartphone browser displays the dedicated tracking page. Here, the child’s recent and current locations are plotted on a map, allowing the parent to monitor their route and progress visually without needing any additional software.

Automated Tracker Startup on Device Boot

For reliability, KidsTrack includes an "Auto Start" feature. When this setting is enabled, the application’s tracking service is configured to launch automatically as soon as the child’s device finishes booting up. This ensures that the tracking functionality resumes after a phone restart without requiring the child to manually open the KidsTrack app and press the start button. This automated workflow guarantees that location monitoring begins immediately, providing consistent coverage and eliminating potential gaps in tracking data.

Silent Background Operation Mode

To minimize distraction on the child’s device, KidsTrack can operate discreetly. Enabling the "Hide notification" setting causes the app to run silently in the background. This action removes the persistent notification icon from the phone’s status bar, making the tracking process invisible during daily use. The KidsTrack service continues to collect and send location data without any visible indicators, allowing for uninterrupted monitoring while respecting the child’s interface and preventing accidental stoppage of the service.
